Did Winzip devs disable Gatekeeper?

The latest update says it addresses a "security issue with Xcode". Were the developers using the XcodeGhost malware trojan to compilers app? Did they actively disable gatekeeper to do this?

Without more information about this app developers security, I will delete it.
