WinZip: #1 zip & unzip tool app good for

The seven people prior to me must be idiots to not to know to use this. After downloading your zipped file, your iOS device will ask you to Open In, choose copy to winzip and it will automatically unzip your files, Im my case it was a PDF, which I quickly re-Opened In iBooks. If you want to access iCloud or google drive files, you must upgrade. Bottom line is the FREE program does what it needs to do.

If you want the full version, buy it. If you want to view ZIP files for free, this works great.

It works. Just sayin its a free app in the Apple store, dont expect that much. If you want to unzip a file from your cloud, email it to yourself and open with WinZip from your email ;) A bit troublesome and not always convenient but at least it works.

Update 11.10.12: in general WinZip@iOS6 is working fine. But it seems that some malformatted ZIP file names (e.g. with a lot of dots in the filename like the billing information from Deutsche Telekom) cannot be opened because iOS assumes the file not to be a zip file). So: if you cant open a zip file with WinZip@iOS6 it can be related to a strange file name of the zip file. But this is an Apple bug, because also other unzip Apps cannot handle those files.

Quick and easy access to .zip files on my iPhone & iPad! Rock solid app. Simply fantastic!

Thanks to Winzip for the iPhone, I dont need to rush off to find a browser to open attached Zip files. Productivity and immediacy remain intact, thanks to this new app!

Some bad moments

I couldnt find a use for it unless you pay for it. So why does the free version exist?

Doesnt actually work unless you upgrade to the full version or download other software

Dont both with this app. You can install it, but thats all you can do with it, other than looking at an endless stream of adds. This app personifies greed before form and function.

Dont raccomand it to anyone, doesnt work at all eith any type of files. ---- Non racccomando a nessuno, non funzionante come lapp e fa molta pena usarla.

Only a free download promotion for a $4.99 app. This app does not even prove that it can do what it claims it will do. It only self-promotes itself. And from a company I once promoted for desktop users. It should at least show that it contains an "in app" purchase if you want it to do anything; other than just mentioning that the full app, read that functional app, cost $5.00.

If you save your file to iCloud or Dropbox or Google drive the free version of Winzip will not open them unless you buy the full version! I would give less stars for their deceptiveness and wasting my time to download this and try it and now deleting it and writing this review!
